easter
Finally! It's easter break. I'm grateful for the break in school, even though it's so short (UK students get a month, lucky jerks). Tomorrow I'm leaving for Scotland... We're taking Ryan Air, which, while cheap, is making me nervous. After that whole Kevin Smith thing with that cheap American airline, I'm paranoid I'm going to get kicked off a plane due to weight - cheap airlines are the worst for that. Ugh. We'll see. Whatever. No point in worrying about it.
This week I went shopping, despite having no money... But I bought most of my stuff at a store called Penny's and it was so cheap! Examples:
- two pairs of shoes = 6 euro
- really cute purse = 11 euro
- really cute tote = 2 euro
- like 50 hair ties = 1.50 euro
- umbrella (polkadot!) = 5 euro
- sunglasses = 3 euro
See?! Cheap. And I legit needed shoes.
Oh, and when I went shopping to get that stuff, we also stopped in at a Chinese grocery store to get things to make gyoza! I had been reading all these bento websites earlier (they're just so pretty) and saw a recipe for them and was craving them... Now that I think about it, I have really happy memory associations with them... First time I tried them was in highschool - I learned how to make them at a friends house, it was so fun! And then last fall during homecoming we ate a bunch while predrinking, and again when we got back from the club... :) ahh. But yeah, Anne and I managed to make them pretty decently for our first solo tries! I even did the fry/steaming method of cooking them - it was fun times.
Anyway, I have things to do... I think I'm going out for dinner soon. I think/hope this trip will be really fun (if I get there lol) -- we're going on two bus tours so that we can get around to all the stuff in the countryside that would be pretty impossible to get to without them. Lots of museum visits are planned, also. And hopefully a day in Glasgow! Exciting!
