Life has been crazy as usual. Always something to do, somewhere to go, blah blah, but things are good everyone is happy and healthy, which is all I can really ask for now. I just had to post the most interesting things that have happened lately.
Diversity Training - ***This might be a little offensive and if so, sorry. It is truly out of the mouth of babes :)
Ok, I have to preface this story by saying that for some reason, Drew thinks that the opposite of tired is happy. For instance, if you say, "Drew, are you tired?" He will say, "No, I'm not tired, I'm happy!" Not a clue where he gets that from, but anyway....
He recently got a new matching game. You know, where each card has a picture on it, and you have to find the match. Well it is a very diverse game in that it represents just about every culture - Indian, African-American, Eskimo, and the list goes on.
When Drew saw the card with the Asian girl, he said, "Mommy, she's tired." And I said, "No, Drew, she's not tired, she's Asian." I guess I should have explained further what I meant about her eyes because the next card was a black girl and Drew said, "Mommy, this girl's not Asian, she's happy." Oy! So now Asian is a synonym for tired. I will truly die if some of this stuff ever gets said in public. I really need to work on educating Drew on other cultures :)
Jazzercise
Yes, I am thinking of joining. In fact, I am 95% sure. I went to a sample class and not only was it super fun, but it kicked my ass. It was an hour of not only cardio, but ab work and weights. It's not your grandma's excercise like I thought. The music was upbeat, the moves were current and the women were all nice and not at all snobby. It is way cheaper than a gym and for me, more motivational. I need something that is held at a certain time that I am paying to go to. And the best thing is it is less than a mile from my house. No excuses! I have hit the weight loss plateau, and I need something to push me over the edge. This is it. I will keep you posted.
Jazz Fest
It's this weekend!! Simon and Garfunkel baby! Not sure who will care about this, but since I am an born again child of the 60s and 70s, I am super stoked!! it's supposed to rain, but I don't care. And I am going childless and non preggers this year so yay freedom, beer, good food and music. Bring it on :)
