Jackie, I'm touched. The story you created is marvelous and I adore the logic in it. It is exactly what should have happened in canon. It could have been offscreen, copying only your first scene, but this needed to happen. You are saving the Durslyes' sanity and by extension, Harry's. Beautifully and with compassion. Your Minerva is pure canon, the voice of reason rather than a herded sheep we have seen in that scene in PS/SS. I love that she was able to convince Albus by pointing out their lost siblings, even though she was unaware of his. Any argument that knocks him down from his self-imposed pedestal is worthy. A baby that can move, with nightmares on a cold street, and a letter is not only cruel, but stupid to boot. Severus's grief makes a lot of sense. I liked that Petunia was able to recognise it for what it was and take it into consideration in her decision. She is a wonderful mother to Harry in your story. Exactly what a tiny baby needs in his first three years when all social skills ingrain in a brain

I'm so, so glad you're enjoying this so far! I had so much fun writing this story and considering all the possible implications of the wizarding world remaining part of Harry's childhood, and the story just sort of... grew. Lol. I hope you enjoy the rest! <3
"Perhaps you would not believe that," she responded quietly, trying not to let her exasperation enter her tone, "if you'd ever had a sister."
...oh dear.
There is another who would be better suited for the task. Someone who may need to deliver this news himself nearly as much as she needs to hear it spoken aloud.
*splutter* WHAT? How can he think forcing Severus into this would be anything but cruel?
"Tell me that it was my mind fucking with me," he said, his lip curling into a sneer, and Petunia frowned at his tone and his words.
This made me smile... I like this coarseness in him in his youth.
Severus stood leaning against the doorjamb, his gaze focused on the floor and his hair hanging around his face like a curtain, hiding his expression from view.
