Three weeks and counting of a cold. Took one day off a couple of weeks ago, and then this week it got worse. Took a day off on Weds and another today. In work on Thurs for meetings I didn't want to miss, shook hands with Finance Analyst Kate on meeting her for first time. Cold-fuzzy brain didn't think in time to say No No Don't shake hands with me! I am plague. Feel guilty.
Re-watching Fringe (is good). Cooked a big chicken-stock vegetable soup which has been seeing me through but hasn't cured me yet. Read Rory Stewart The Places in Between - his walk across the backbone of Afghanistan in 2002 - which is great.
Walked out today into the warm sunshine (in three layers plus coat and scarf), walked down the road and back and into the graveyard of St Mary and Joseph's, and remembered to just stop and look. And, having stopped, suddenly became more aware of everything. The fluffy silver buds on the trees, some becoming green, squirrels, 4, in that tree like monkeys, the birds that I could then hear making their buzzes, tweeps, chirrups, etc., and the amazing sky-scape the cathedral tree makes.
