Ten things about Jack Driscoll

Mar 24, 2006 18:44

1) His mother is Irish and his father is retired military. They met when General Driscoll was visiting family in Ireland.
2) Jack's father taught him many of the things he knows now: how to use weapons, how to sail a boat, etc.
3) Jack is well-travelled. He also has a particular disdain for seeing movies shot overseas, as nobody seems fascinated by what they see--unless, of course, it's themselves they see.
4) Jack's least favorite facial feature is--surprise surprise--his nose.
5) Jack has an amazing ability to tune things out if he doesn't care to be exposed to them. This is why he is able to maintain a civil relationship with people like Raven: he accepts that they are odd and tunes out the oddness.
6) Jack misses his family back in 1933!New York. Badly. This is probably why he's more fond of NYC than any other city. His family is there.
7) He would love to have a family of his own, but right now he's content to have no one, rather than go through the pain of being pushed away again. He also doesn't think he can strike up a relationship now that he's been pushed away twice by women he loved. A thing like that'll give a man an insecurity complex the size of Texas.
8) Though Jack is not insecure in the least. He's confident in his looks (save his nose), his ability to capture a woman and his talent as a writer. He just doesn't think love is worth the effort if women will ignore it or throw it away.
9) Jack is not afraid of anything. Except women.
10) After what happened with Satine, Jack is keenly aware how Kong felt when Jack rescued Ann. And that terrifies him.
