Selecting an apartment.

[ From here. ]

The apartment he chooses is big enough for himself, a cat, and perhaps another human. He thinks the extra space is unnecessary. He feels otherwise. The walls are a drab off-white color and bare, the furniture simple. They will do for now. Jack nods, satisfied, as he explores the rooms. Now that she's out of the cells and free of the curse, there's a few people Mary Anne needs to see.

So there's a girl knocking on Jack's door, looking tired but still holding it together.

"Who is it?" Jack calls out, taking off his shoes. He's not leaving just yet. He wants to relax for a bit.

"An army of glitterslingers! Open up!"

Jack screams. In a mocking way.

"Like hell I'm gonna do that." If Mary Anne has a ear for changes in sound, she may hear that the voice is approaching the door rather than retreating from it. Regardless, the door opens soon enough to a grinning Jack. "You're out!"

The first time she met Jack, she hugged him because she thought he was someone else.

This time, she knows exactly what she's doing.

"I'm out!" The hug may be endangering Jack's ribs, so she steps back. "And I'm all here; curse is gone."

She's not sure he knows about the curse, but who knows what people on the outside knew?

D'aww, Jack's ribs don't mind. They aren't as weak as they look--after all, it's not as if you can *see* them when Jack has his shirt off.

"That's great," he says cheerfully, hooking an arm around Mary Anne's shoulders. "Heard there was a big fight in the bar. Wouldn't know; I wasn't here."

She slings an arm loosely around his waist. "I missed it, too; didn't get let out until everything was over. I'll ask around for the details later."

Headtilt. "Where were you? Go home for a bit?"

"...kind of. I picked out an apartment in Mark's building."

"Oooh, get a nice one? What's the building like?"

"It's pretty big, yeah. The building, it...kind of looks like a warehouse out front, but it's decent. Sturdy."

She laughs.

"Well, as long as it doesn't fall down around your ears, should be alright. When do you leave?"

"Soon. Tomorrow, I think. I need to pack."

"Should I go get the Pinot Noir now, then, or save it till you get back?"

She's meticulous about remembering her promises, even when she doesn't keep them.

A quick trip downstairs and she's back with a bottle, two glasses and a corkscrew.

"You're gonna have to help me get this open; don't have a lot of experience with corks."

Her strategy would probably be just to stab it with a knife, yank and hope for the best.

Jack takes the bottle and the corkscrew, placing the bottle on top of the drawer as he screws off the cork. With a pop, the cork is removed, and Jack turns to Mary Anne, waving his fingers.

"Need the glasses now."
