The Philosoper's Stone Is People!
Wow, Connecticon was so... fun. In my previous posts I stated how I wasn't excited about it, but WOW. I'll write a brief summary of the days, if anyone is interested.
Friday~
I went with Sarah in the morning, and we got there really early, supposedly before registration opened, even though there was already a line, which went out the door. It was really hot and sunny outside, and I was dressed as movie Ed, which was at least 4 layers, plus gloves, boots, and a wig... so it was a smidge humid. I got some fangirls in the line though. XD And Sarah's Eowyn costume was so pretty! After we finally got our badges we walked around checking out the rooms and the gaming room. Later on, we met up with Brit, Casey, Cori, Jamie, Josh and Lindsay. We sat around for a while and also checked out the cosplay musical. I got a Zidane figure in the Dealer's Room, which was the only thing I bought all weekend... I'm just not a real dealer's room shopper. XD
Saturday~
We went to the con a lot later in the day, because sleep is good. Saru finally attended, so our group was complete. We watched Sarah singing karaoke, which I got on tape. ^_^ I also took some other random footage, since I was dressed as Lust and I soooo needed to. A bunch of us FMA cosplayers were all together in the main area and it ended up becoming a continuous photoshoot. I mean WOW. I don't remember people taking that many pics since the FF photoshoot at Anime Boston '04. XD Everyone seemed to like my Lust costume though, even though I didn't use the white makeup and my lipstick came off. There was this one guy who got on his knees clasping his hands together and proclaimed how much he loved my costume. That made me feel special, although it was a tad weird. XD
We also watched the AMV contest, but there weren't any that really stood out, that I hadn't already seen anyways. Later on we went to get food at McDonalds (mmm, salad) and then I changed back into Ed in the parking lot because I was cold and uncomfortable, and my gloves were falling apart. Then we got in line for the masquerade, and got good seats at least. The skits this year were really funny, although there was way too many people singing. Casey, Brit and Cori did a great job with theirs, and I got it on tape. After that we went to the rave. I danced a little, but I didn't want to overheat myself and die of heat exhaustion in all that clothing. Because that would not have been good. We ended up leaving the con at like, 1:30 in the morning. Gawd I was exhausted.
Sunday~
We arrived fairly early on Sunday to meet up with Saru, since she originally wasn't planning on staying long (she was cosplaying Noa and I was Ed again). Jamie dropped off Casey and Brit at the con so they could go to the chess rehearsal while we went back to Manchester to go to get gas, go to the ATM, and Dunkin' Donuts. We then went back to the con and met up with Lindsay, Josh, Cori, and Saru (who was my gypsy ho). We sat around for a while and then watched chess. It was much better this year, even if it was rigged, and the battles were great. I videotaped the entire thing and will probably end up uploading a few clips. After that we had another (smaller) FMA gathering and photoshoot where I totally pimped it with Noa and the Winrys. I missed Sarah though; she was too tired to come... *cries* But we also stood around tossing a balloon with an Al face drawn on it in the air, and we also launched an attack on a group of Naruto cosplayers, who kidnapped Envy. Saru had gone to bring Josh home and didn't really come back, so we left the con early. We went to go get food and then went back to my house for a few skits. We did some Death Note/FMA crossovers, with a random cameo by Ashley. XD The skits aren't that great, but they're funny and hopefully I can use them for music video footage.
I uploaded a few photos to my photobucket account (they're all of people in our group that I found online taken by other people) if anyone wants to check that out. There's a few so far but I will add more as soon as they appear on the 'net. ^_~
I took a long nap today, which is why I'm still up this late. I think I'll take a shower, have a snack and go to bed... and hopefully my body will adjust to going back actually having food and rest. <3 Ciao!
