Pain - part two

Today was my second trip to see the tattoo artist. Today I had the left side of my leg outlined. Again Ron drew the design on my leg by hand with two ball-point pens and then set to work tracing it with the tattoo machine. Again it hurt quite a bit as expected especially over my ankle bone and behind my knee. Now the outline is done and the shading ( Read more... )

I'm loving this. I've never gotten a tattoo that involved, so it's great to live vicariously through you. I also love the way the bottom of the design curves along the top of your ankle, as thouugh it were framing the top of it.

Amazing. Thank you for sharing the process. :)

Thanks! I'm loving it as well.... except for the pain part. I was getting so amped up with the adrenaline and caffeine on Friday that I had to stop about 45 min into it because my left leg was shaking so much.

It's just the basic outline, so most of the line work is a bit shaky and can be fixed up later. I really like the ankle bone outline circle part as well as the vertebra / ribcage a few inches below my kneecap.

You can't see from the pictures, but he's drawing / planning the design to have some definite foreground and background areas to the design to make it less two dimensional. I'm very excited to see it progress, but due to his schedule my next appointment isn't until the middle of May. I'm just hoping he'll call me when he has a cancellation.

the progress is going well, but i know the waiting is going to be teh suck.

However, I think you'll find something to keep you busy until May. Just a hunch.

She's 36 weeks as of Thursday. We're expecting it any day now based on our last doctor visit and a few other indicators.

YAY! I think your little one will be expecting a present - but not until she's about a month old at the point it is right now. Bodies go right along without taking a break - ladies knitting have to do other things - baby always wins! :)

(I'm really so excited for you, can't wait for baby pics. :)
