so stanley tookie williams, co-founder of the gang, the Crips, was executed yesterday by leathal injection; i'm surprized there wasn't more publicity. more about it in the news, you know.
ok, i'm not supporting what tookie did with the first part of his life, but i don't think he deserved the death penalty. i mean, he was obviously reformed. any one who gets nominated for the nobel peace prize 5 times for writing childrens books about how gangs really are and how prison really is, with the hope that kids will stay away from both, is obviously reformed. he was an anti-gang crusader who was working hard to undo the atrocities of his youth. now someone might say, "he killed four innocent people, nothing he has done will undo that." well, that maybe true but he's at least trying.
if they could have killed anyone, they should have killed the unrepentant slaughterer of two families, charles manson. but they won't, mostly because he's white.
