Repost from mah other Journal! [Sims 3: Showtime stuff!]

A couple wondered about some of Showtime and I thought I'd repost my friend-locked stuff over here. Here ya go, gheez, this is what Magician's progression is like, at least the earlier parts of it.

Sorry about the derpiness of the blue background. I'm not entirely sure why copy-pasting does this but all the text-font editing I'm trying isn't helping. I ( Read more... )

Well ya know, Peter's kinda a showy guy and they had the money to do it. So... sure! :D

When I recommend people starting out with Sims 3, I ALWAYS recommend they at least get Generations as a starter expansion. It's a subtle expansion but the interactions that it gives and the quality of life stuff is so immense that it just adds so much to the gameplay enjoyment.

Updating custom stuff? You mean like objects and things? That's tricky, I know that Pets 'broke' (I don't consider it broken.. it just changed how furniture works with pets that rendered player made content out of date.) beds, sofas, dressers, chairs, etc.. because it suddenly required different mechanics to handle the kitties going under the sofas, on top of them, scratching them, etc.

This is partially why I don't honestly like using Sims Community furniture. I prefer just buying stuff off the Store since they update/patch their furnishings and don't weigh down the need to patch it with a pile of negative drama, "Waaaaah! EA is teh sux0rz! They didn't care about millions of custom content makers to make sure their f'ing game works with OUR content! U sux0rz! EA!"

(I love how they forgot that Pets also 'broke' beds/chair content in Sims 2, as well. >.>)

But any ways, yeah, the skintones were updated with the muscle tone addition of sliders, but everything else cosmetic has gone untouched, best I can figure since I have hair/makeup/clothes that I've had since first pack.

Wouldn't all Pixel's stuff still work because she's patched up to date as she's only just reinstalled TS3?

Obviously that won't solve any future problems though. D'oh.

Though, I have a custom dining chair, the creator very kindly updated it for the Pets patch. I think it may be one of the few pieces of custom stuff I still have in-game.

Night.

As far as I know, they should be unless they do some really radical body changes like they did with Late Night's muscle definition. And that was several patches ago.

Who knows what weird changes to body they'll do with Supernatural, though. We can only hope!

It was the furniture that went South with Pets and I still maintain that EA didn't break the mod community's stuff... They just altered how furniture worked and they can't patch 10 bizillion community-made objects. They have their own stuff to worry about.

I refuse to bitch on them for the Pets thing. We're responsible for our own content we make to make sure it's in line with game-changing patches, I maintain.

I mean like the ears that you mentioned didn't work with career outfits, or whatever it was. Just wondering whether they could be updated so they do work.

Oddly enough? They started working a couple weeks after I made that post. O.o I had gone and uninstalled all my content through the launcher at one point to clear out some stuff I didn't want any more and reinstalled what was left and the ears were one of the things... and lo, they started working. Custom content is a mysterious thing in Sims 3.
