End of the year meme. Woo.

Dec 31, 2009 04:07

`cause I probably won't get a chance to do this tomorrow.

1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Went to my first concert. Ever.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make new years resolutions. I'm 15, I'm good at the moment.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes ;_;

5. What countries did you visit?
Haha, none.

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
A new ipod. I've been going without one for several months now, and I'm getting antsy. And the Young Veins album.

7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
July 6. Panic at the Disco split up. July 27-28 new music from both parties, and a new band to look forward to in the future.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting straight A's in all of my classes, achieving first honors every quarter, and being 42 in class rank. (it's my favorite number EVER, you guys! Douglas Adams ftw!)

9. What was your biggest failure?
not completing service hours that are due on the 6th... time to forge some sigs... (everybody I know does it, shut up)

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Swine flu. `nuff said.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My epic Fall Out Boy t-shirt I got at the concert! I wear it all. The. Time.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Matthew Gray Gubler. He is my new love.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Some Panic! fangirls directly after the split. They made me really, really sad and depressed.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Lunch.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Blink concert! Which was then crushed a week after we bought the tickets by the split. *sigh*
The Young Veins in general! Seriously, those boys are my love and joy. Everything they do and have done, regardless of what others think, always make me happy.
Life. I don't know, but I've had some sort of epiphany this year, and life just seems so much more meaningful and beautiful to me. I'm happy.

16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
"Show Me What I'm Looking For" - Carolina Liar
This one, mainly, because I remember staying up till dawn, till after my dad left to use his room to sleep, and putting on vh1 to lull me to sleep. I really liked this one, because it reminded me of the beach, and the early mornings in summer when it's humid outside, the sky is light, and tired, heavy eyes.
"Everything Will Be Alright" - the Killers
Pretty much the same feelings as above, but also getting me through the split. Reminds me of the early, sleepless, muggy mornings filled with insomnia, warm blankets, and tea.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? I have no idea, but I feel thinner. Maybe.
iii. richer or poorer? Uh, richer I suppose. All of it is going to my ipod fund, so not for long.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Went out with friends more, but I've done much better about that. I'm slowly breaking out of my reclusive shell! And service hours >__>

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Reading comments on patd when it was certain it was going to be depressing and mean and sad.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Hanging out with my sister, internet. Pretty much the same as any other time of year.

22. Did you fall in love in 2009?
Yes, with life.

23. How many one-night stands?
No.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Criminal Minds has taken over my life.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Sir Francis Drake. What a dick.

26. What was the best book you read?
Animal Farm. That book will never get old to me.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Owl City, Explosions in the Sky, Foreign Born, Passion Pit, and most of all: Lady Gaga.

28. What did you want and get?
umm. A pageboy cap?

29. What did you want and not get?
an ipod. *sigh*

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Sherlock Holmes, seeing as that was pretty much the only film I saw this year. Oh, and Adam.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
On the net, listening to the Brazilian leak of "New Perspective", and the next day listening to "Change". I turned 15.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Getting a new ipod. *sigh*
Panic not splitting up, thus preventing half of the fanbase from demonizing Ryan, and making fanfic much less depressing whenever he is the main character. Seriously, wtf. Why, people, why? He's 23, give the guy a break.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
Loose t-shirts, jeans, and dark, neutral colors. In the fall in winter scarves, hats, and wool. Right now I look like I'm from a Dickens novel. I love it.

34. What kept you sane?
Music, Maureen, drawing.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Ryan Ross forever, omg. And Matthew Gray Gubler. Both are very pretty.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The Iran election. See the green motif of my background? Yes.

37. Who did you miss?
My mother, but that's pretty much every year, isn't it...

38. Who was the best new person you met?
MAUREEN ♥

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.
Don't wait to do stuff. We live only a few decades, and we should do what makes us come alive, and to not try to live forever, but to create something that will.
When you think you're screwed, just remember that we are all on a ball of mud floating in the dark.
Everything will be alright.
Finally: All you need is love. Love is all you need.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year
"Kiss away young thrills and kills on the mouths of all my friends"
