[Oooh. That has him momentarily distracted - hasn't he seen similar around here, come to think of it?] They are. So this means I'm taking care of her now? [He looks back down to the Ralts, who's situated herself in his lap where she can see the Gear as well.]
I can imagine. [He's idly resting a hand gently on the Ralts's head; she seems to have perked up now that things have settled down a little and that he's gotten away from some of the sillier confusion.]
Huh... where I'm from we didn't often have "monsters"; there were the Chains, but - those usually would only appear in our world if someone had summoned one for a Contract, or if something was very, very wrong. Most people would never actually see one, and I'd understood them to usually be much more imposing than this. [He pats the Ralts's head affectionately.]
Yes... the monsters back home were usually vicious. Rare occasions would yield a tamed monster. Apart from that, they were to be avoided for safety reasons.
I've never seen one like that... do you know what it is?

...[pause] First of what? [There DO seem to be a good handful of other people with odd small creatures around...]

[ One sec, and the video will return to a beautiful hoppip floating about happily. ]
These. They're different types and depending on whether you're a Breeder or Trainer...you raise them. Aren't they cute?

[ He dismissively waves his hands and smiles. ]
Eh, not too long. A couple of weeks now.

But then, not having monsters everywhere can't be a bad thing, can it?
