Grandfather meeting Kim and Trick went well, I think. I reckon they all like each other well enough. I went and talked to him after everyone had gone to bed Thursday night. I told him how serious i was feeling towards Kim. How I know she is young, and that this whole thing has moved fast, but that I knew it was right, like I knew it was right with Beth. I thought maybe he'd have something to say about it. He just laughed at me and said it was about damn time. Said it was the happiest he's seen me in years. I reckon she won his heart the minute she walked through the door.
I think Trick and Kim have been enjoying their stay her. Grandfather regales them with stories at night after dinner. Friday I took them out to Ship Island and yesterday I showed them around the casinos. We gambled for a bit and then went to the buffet at the Beau Rivage. I reckon seafood and Kim do not agree. She got sick afterwards. Seafood just doesn't agree with some people. Tomorrow I'm fixin to take them to New Orleans for the day. Can take a trip to the gulf coast without a visit there. We head out for Ireland on Tuesday.
I realized how much I've been missing the old man. I'm glad Trick and Kim bowled over me like they did and invited him out by us for Christmas. It wouldn't be the same without him. Though for some reason the thought of meeting her family makes me a little nervous. But it's still aways a way. For now it's all about the R&R. So far this trips be great and I reckon Ireland will be too.
