A/N: I think this is kinda general and non-spoilery, so if you haven't seen Ep 2, I think you are safe.
She nodded and turned, ready to go home, yet not quite. She stood in the doorway, looking back at Jack, sitting, safe, in his chair. Aliens invading, being at knife point, having bullets whiz by; what kind of life was that?
And to go home and pretend to have a normal job. Gwen was finding it harder to do. It was this place, Jack, her colleges, all made her stay late, running down allies, almost exploding in fields.
It wasn’t as if they could go back. Only a future far and vast. But Gwen wanted here and now.
And Jack.
