Timeline: I once read that Torchwood was set a couple years in the future, but I’m not sure if that’s true or not, so it’s set in 2009.
A/N: Inspired by reading the blog Belle de Jour: diary of a London call girl, although this is very different.

I finally faced my mum. I did it on the phone not in person, because, as previously stated, I’m a coward. I’m now deaf in one ear, possibly permanently, but only time will tell.
If it had been my choice I would’ve put it off longer, but J exacted his revenge for my extended lie-in by forcing my hand. I knew that was going to bite me in the ass, but I didn’t realize my ear would suffer as well. If I’d known I may have reconsidered. I happen to be very fond of my ears, for their ability to hear as well as the fact that I can hang pretty things on them.
I think at some point in our “conversation” I agreed to drive over for dinner on Saturday. J will be there. I will force him to be in that house with my wedding obsessed mother even if it kills me. Of the two of us I’m willing to bet she’ll focus her efforts on the one of us that’s traditionally supposed to propose. I’m almost excited.
