The Cancer Center

I took my mom to the Cancer Center.  After a one hour examination, and a review of all her medical records here is what the doctor said:

  • The type of cancer she has is very aggressive.
  • With aggressive treatment, there is no reason why she should not be able to get rid of it.
  • The doctor wants a few more tests to see exactly where the cancer is and how far it has advanced.
  • He will start an aggressive treatment of chemotherapy within a few weeks.  She will have it once every three weeks six times.

This doctor instilled a level of confidence that I did not get with the previous doctor my mom was seeing.  This guy seemed like he knew what he was talking about.  I am happy that she is getting the treatment.  My only fear is that with the “aggressive” therapy there will probably also be “aggressive” side effects.  I am not sure how I am going to deal with them or her, but I will cross that bridge when I get to it.
