LJ Idol Chapter 4: Sexual Ethics

Nov 14, 2009 19:59

So much of my work involves sex. I guess you could say that I'm a "sex worker." You could, but you probably shouldn't.

The thing is, I'm a person, living and working around animals. Animals who use laws and order to mask or conceal their baser desires. They ask me to find out who each other are having sex with, why they are having sex, or excuses to have sex. Sometimes they want me to stop other people from having sex. So much sex.

Sex is a powerful force. Entire countries and religions have risen and fell because of it. One man wants a divorce and the Pope says no, and all of a sudden we have a whole new religion. Another man wants to have sex with a woman, and a treaty between two nations is arranged so that the two may marry.

Today, I give forged photographs to a client so that she can prove her honest and loving husband was unfaithful to her. She is going to use this evidence to get an at fault divorce. She will then remarry as quickly as possible her newest object of affection. And, I have no doubt that in a few years she'll tire of him and look for another.

Speaking of pictures, I still need to figure out what is wrong with the photograph of Jason on the pier. I take another look at it. A fresh look in the bright sunshine.

And, there it is.

Jason is a young man, five-foot-ten with blonde hair, a nice tan, wearing white pants. I realize he is a very pretty man. He is standing on a wooden pier with what I now recognize as the Pacific behind him. Somewhere to his right, off camera, should be the island of Alcatraz. I've been on this pier before.

There are actually multiple problems. The first one, the one that caught my attention, is that Jason's right elbow is not flush on top of the railing he is leaning against. He also doesn't seem to be casting a shadow on the railing. Finally, he should be looking directly into the sun, but he isn't squinting.

I've seen a lot of faked pictures. Flash shows them to me before I pay for them. This one isn't as good as his. But, it makes me wonder, why send a faked picture? If the figure in the picture is not actually Jason, then why not find a whole picture to send. If the figure is actually Jason, then why superimpose him on the pier?

The simple answer would be that people do strange things for sex. People pretend to be much different than they actually are. Maybe he wanted to look attractive and traveled, so he found a picture of an attractive man and a tourist location and put them together? I don't understand the underlying motive.

People will lie, cheat and steal for sex. Some will even kill for it. Some will kill for the promise of damp sex on dirty sheets with a red dress pulled up to the waist and white panties still hanging from one creamy thigh.

Or, so I've been told.

Sex can inspire a man to do many things that otherwise wouldn't make sense. But, I think that there is more than just sex going on here. Jason went the extra mile on this picture that he sent to Carol. Much farther than a simple internet relationship would warrant.

I need to know more about Carol.
