It's quiet when they get onto Zacks' street. Jack thinks it's too quiet. There's no sounds of people going to work or school, dogs barking to wake their owners up, not even birds in the trees if he wanted to be really sappy about it. It's like the calm before a storm, and Jack doesn't like it one bit.

“Guys, where is everyone?” He asks aloud, causing the other two men in the car to shrug uncertainly.

He looks out the window with a confused expression, expecting to see something, anything in the street. But it's empty.

Zack's house already has several cars parked haphazardly outside, and Rian does the same before clambering out, Alex and Jack following suit.

“Zack!” Alex yells, banging violently on the dark front door. Seconds later Zack appears from behind it, grabbing onto as many wrists as he can and yanking them inside. As soon as the door is shut, he turns on the trio and demands answers.

“What is going on?” He asks frantically, leading them through to the living room where the others are sat. Matt, Vinny, Jeff, Grieco, Danny, Ian, Colussy and Evan are sat around the room looking nervous. Jack waves at them, and they all give him worried smiles in return.

“What's going on?” Zack repeats, pacing the room slightly.

“From what Jack's told us... zombies, bro.” Alex says, biting his lip.

The whole room goes into uproar.

“What?!”

“That can't be true!”

“Bullshit!”

“Shut up!” Jack yells as his hands fly to rub his temples, “We're not going to get anywhere if all we do is shout.”

This silences the guys; they've never seen Jack this serious.

“So how do you know it's zombies, dude?” Vinny asks.

Jack fills them in on the events leading up to why they're at Zack's now, and by the end of his speech everyone in the room is shocked.

“Did you bring what we told you to?” Rian asks, looking round at everyone. They all nod and gesture to various large bags placed around the room.

“Good, we're going to need to think of a plan... and fast.” He continues, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

And suddenly Jack has a plan. Ever since Alex and he stole a copy of the original 'Dawn of the Dead' from his older brother's room and spent a whole night watching it when they were younger, they've had a plan ready for the day when this would happen; and they knew it would. All those years of playing Resident Evil were going to pay off.

“We're gonna need a base; somewhere above ground level where we can see our surroundings easily. When we get there, we're going to block up the exits from the inside so that only we can get in or out.” Jack says determinedly, the plan already forming in his mind.

“But first,” Alex continues, “We need to find a supermarket. We need supplies; the ones we have with us aren't going to last for long... trust me.”

The rest of the group nod in agreement.

“There's a Walmart not too far from here.” Zack says, before turning to look out of the window.

“We should go there then. Everyone grab bags and let's get out of here.” Jack says, taking charge for the moment. Everyone does as he tells them, and spread themselves and the supplies evenly throughout the many cars in front of Zack's house.

Suddenly there’s a low rumble in the air, like the buzzing static of a radio that isn't tuned properly. It's getting louder, and Jack frowns in confusion before looking out the rear-view mirror to the street behind him.

Oh God.

There’s a crowd of them, swarming up like bees. And they're coming straight for the cars.
