Name/nickname: Jacinta
Age: 23
Location: Maryland

Types of crafts you do: mostly crochet. I can knit rectangles
And for how long? crochet: since 98 but for serious for maybe a year; knit: one year, never seriously
What you would like to learn: knit socks
Favorite thing about crafting: buying the yarn!
Favorite project you've made (WIP or FO) My flower blanket
Least favorite thing about crafting: when projects come out wrong, all wrong, even though you followed the directions
I mostly create things for myself or small gifts for others. Quite frankly, I don't want to put in hours of work for someone who isn't going to appreciate it (or justly compensate).
Favorite yarn: I don't know if it's my favorite, but I really like the feel of Moda Dea's bamboo wool
Ravelry: my projects page
Personal crafty anecdote? Hmm. Once, when I lived in Brooklyn, I was crocheting in a laundromat, waiting for my clothes to finish. This little girl came up to me and had no idea what I was doing. She said, "How does it do that?" and I told her I was making special knots with this "stick." Then she walked away. Alas!

Fandoms: Pushing Daisies, Lost, Mad Men, summer Olympics
Favorite Ships: Ned/Chuck, Jaye/Eric, Jack/Kate, Marshall/Lily, Nick/Lindsay. There's more I just can't recall right now
5 favorite shows: Pushing Daisies, Lost, Mad Men, Project Runway, Freaks and Geeks
5 favorite movies: at the moment? Atonement, Romeo + Juliet, Slumdog Millionaire, The Sound of Music, The Matrix Reloaded
5 favorite books: The Lovely Bones, Anne of the Island, To Kill a Mocking bird, The Time Traveler's Wife, crossword puzzle books
5 non-crafty, non-fandom interests: baking, couture fashion eds, cocktails, music, makeup

What do you look for in an lj friend: Someone with similar interests and who is interested in me back. I rarely post anything blatantly political or religious and I don't mind if you do if it's respectful and to an extent in the same vein of thinking as myself, I guess. I don't mean to say I can't handle friends with opposing view points but I'm not looking for friends I don't/won't agree with.
Public or friends-only? 99% friends only
Anything else? I'm a realistic optimist.

I love those books, especially the Anne Series, although I think Anne of Windy Willows is my favourite,

I love to reread them during the summer especially. They're such feel-good books :)

They so definately are, have you read the later ones at Ingleside where the kids have grown up. The one set during WW1 is brilliant, tearjerking, but brilliant.

Yes, I have the box set! Rilla of Ingleside makes me cry every time. I think each book has at least one part where I get a misty-eyed.

That is so true, I think Annes House of Dreams and Rilla of Ingleside are the worst for it though. That is in a good way.

I think I may just have to dig mine out for a re-read.

Friends?
