Moogles on the Doorstep.

Well, it's about time some good stuff started happening to me. I woke up this morning to Ben saying, "go back to sleep, school is cancelled." that's always  a happy thing, and so I did and I don't feel so sick anymore.

Monday was my recital. Thanks to Cat0Dancer  who came and hang out with us after. and to  Deshy  who came to see it and whom we throroughly embarrased with a round of Happy Birthday and when we went to Pats Pizza afterwards, we got him a free cake. :-D hehe I have a bunch of pictures taken by Cat, and will post them up later when my camera batteries aren't dead. some of me doing my Old Mother Hubbard piece. Which went well, considering i had balloons popping inches from my eyes and i think it startled Judith more than it did me. I also was able to stay in character, even though Judith forgot to bring my music to the piano and had to search for it. Some of the parts were horrendous, at least to my own liking. Though for the most part, I got through it, and  hopefully will be doing it in Recital Class this semseter. Along with another piece that i'm not so sure what it's going to be yet. Nor do I even know when i'm going in Recital class! Another thing from the recital. Someone from the Boston Conservatory of Music was there. And apparently when she heard me sing, she asked Judith for my contact info. and came up to me afterwards to tell me how much she loved my piece and my voice! Talk about head swelling!!! even after all that went wrong, technically, with my piece. And she still liked it!

I talked to my Gram about the money issues with the school. And she said that she could forward me the money to buy the books. :) YAY! I'll finally have books to go with my classes! No more sharing and photocopying! :) hehe I sent her a detailed list of classes and books and I should have the check today or tomorrow.  Hopefully today!  I don't know if you remember, or if I even posted about how dissappointed I was this Christmas. How I did'nt get anything but a watch and a calendar from my Gram and Shawn got a LOT of stuff? Well, i found out why! Apparently, she had assumed that I knew that we were going to see a show! usually this is the case, but she normally wraps a box up, with the out lines of the show and so forth. Apparently she couldn't do that this year b/c the travel group we normally go with, didn't have the info out til this week! So, I get to go see, my choice of 2, Monty Python's Spam-a-lot, Les Miz, or Phantom of the Opera.  Now this is hard to choose. I know that I can't do anything in April and I'm not quite sure which one is when b/c the website isn't showing it. I've seen Phantom of the Opera  many times. I've seen Les Miz done once. But have not seen Spam-a-Lot and would love to! so this is hard. My 2 first musicals and my first favorites... and one i've never seen! how do you choose?!

I got my part for Opera Workshop yesterday. I'm singing a solo/duet! With Hallie!!! :) YAY!!! I'm not sure if I like that the operas are all going to be in English. I rather like opera sung in the origional language. But we'll see. We'll be doing a scene from Marriage of Figaro. I'm playing Suzanna, the servant girl who is getting married to Figaro, and the count wants to envoke his "deflowering" privleges, though he's said that he won't do such a thing, ever again, and Hallie is going to be playing Marcellina, who was contracted to marry Figaro b/c of a debt. The song is one where she and I are being spiteful towards each other upon meeting. Mostly recitative. Though, I've always like "figaro" and have wanted to do a song from it.  :)

Also, upon getting home yesterday i decided to check my bank account, which had gone into the negatives, and found out that there was 200$ credited to my account! It hadn't told me what it was b/c it was still pending, so I looked at it this morning, and found out that the music account that had taken 100$ out of my account had refunded me the money!  And the bank refunded me a bunch of fees to make up for some of their mistakes. This makes me incredibly happy!

This morning, I also found out that my financial aide came in. And they split it in half and give you half at the beginning of the semester and half at the middle. Well, they split it in half before they pay the bill and it leaves me with owing the school 13.50$.... Grar! but at least i don't have to pay it until the refund check comes in sometime in February.

So, some things are coming together quite nicely and other things are interesting. I'm working today at 2:30 and out at 5:30 if anyone wants to hang out or anything. I really do miss my friends. Though, I'm about ready to give up on a couple that keep saying, "wanna hang out, wanna hang out"  and then when I try to hang out with them, they're too busy or don't want to. I don't know if i should give up on them or not. But, i know i can't.

Anyways. This is a lot longer than i had supposed it would be. If you read all of it, i'm impressed! Loves!
