I have returned from my multiweek training mission in Germany. It was fun, but I'm glad to be home....ugh...I just called Oklahoma 'home'.
Left Dallas on Apr 18, and flew overnight to Frankfurt to land on the 19th. We had the remainder of the week to acclimate and explore the post. Those first few days I don't think I was ever totally sober. Grew to really love Dunkel-Beer. It's hard not to get drunk in Germany. Beer is cheaper than both water and soda.
Once the new week rolled around it became boring shift work. Stuck with eating at the DFac or munching on MREs to save money. There was a single group trip to Rothenburg and Nurmburg. I took photos and posted them on Facebook.
Got back Sunday evening. We were allowed 2 days to recover from jetlag. Today was back to work. I think I broke my finger hammering spikes into the ground with a sledge. If it hurts in the morning I'll go to sick call.
