Happy Birthday to both Ryoma and Ryoga-sensei. I hope it was a very enjoyable one, especially with the help of the party Tomoka made for you both. She worked very hard to put together everything she thought you would enjoy, and even outdid herself from last year for it, so I hope you both ended up liking what she worked on putting together

It's just Jackal, sensei. I was raised in Brazil so being called by my family name still feels weird no matter how many years I've been here. Though in your case, if you prefer me to call you Echizen-sensei instead, I will. I try my best to keep with customs, but it just sounded a little awkward in writing with me mentioning your brother as well, who I do call by his given name, but I don't wish to sound rude to you at all.

I'm glad you enjoyed the birthday festivities, though. I'm sure Tomoka will be delighted knowing that the newly arrived brother of Ryoma was happy with what she put together for you both.

[OOC: And right back at him, if Ryoga wishes Jackal to refer to him a certain way, he will. Though since I figured he had a bit of an American accent when he spoke with Jackal, he assumed Ryoga wouldn't be as bothered by being called by his given name.]

Oh! What part of Brazil, Jackal? I spent a great deal of time in the Amazon. If you decide to take my class, you should call me Echizen-sensei during lessons. Outside of that, I don't care too much. Be careful until you know, ne? I don't recommend using "Sumire-sensei".

I'm from São Paulo. Liberdade, if you want to get specific. I was a city kid, so I've never visited Solimões (the Amazon to you foreigners, but you might know better already since you've actually visited it). I always wanted to, though. Maybe some day I'll go back home and visit it like any Brazilian wishes to do in their lifetime.

I'll keep that in mind. But no, I'm not about to call the Headmistress by her given name. I might prefer to be informal with others when possible, but I'm not stupid. Even in Brazil you wouldn't go talking to such a person like that.

[OOC: No accent? Figured he would have a Florida one after spending so much time there. >> But whatever works for him. And yeah, Jackal knows that was weird, but he wanted to still politely call him sensei even though it seemed awkward to him to call him by his family name. XD;]

I spent a bit of time in the city and I remember Liberade. I got all my Japanese things there! The people were wonderful. I expect that you're equally wonderful.

I recommend the forest! It's incredible. Don't expect to leave it as easily as you enter.

(ooc: I know, I was pretty surprised too! But his canon profile says despite time in America he much prefers Japanese. His time in Florida was mostly spent as a tree...so not much language was absorbed. Ryoga's informal enough to not mind much either way though.)

The people of Liberdade are very kind and helpful whenever we can be. It's part of our nature, I guess you could say. We always wish to be considerate of others' needs when possible. But I don't think I'd really consider myself that wonderful just because I was raised with such a frame of mind. Not that I don't appreciate being called that, though.

I'm certain that it is, it's just a matter of getting there. As big as Solimões may be, it's still a good ways away from São Paulo anything I'm familiar with, and obviously it's also a good ways away from where we are now.
