Uninspired

I have left my yangqin idle for too long, to the extent that Dear actually suggested I move the qin back to my parents' place so that my dad can play it when he's free, since he has been toying with the idea of buying one for himself. 2 years ago, that would have been unthinkable, since the qin was still a huge part of my life. However, as much as the idea pains me now, it does seem like a logical thing to do. Why waste a few hundred bucks buying another when mine is a top-end, un-utilised one? But no, I can't do it, not just yet, it's still my 心肝宝贝, despite the fact that I've neglected it for eons.

To justify not sending my qin away, I was determined to lift the covers off the qin today and play, by hook or by crook. And play I did, but oh, it was super-unmotivated playing at its best. I wasn't inspired to play any solo pieces nor practise scales. So I just played the melody of whatever song that came to mind. After 花非花,花好月圆,摘苹果的时候 and a short opening of 丝路驼铃, I sighed and replace the covers. It just wasn't working out.

I need to join another orchestra to kickstart everything again, but a search on CCs in toa payoh showed that the only cc with chinese orchestra is toa payoh west. I don't think they want me, haha...

How like that??? Is there an orchestra which is not too far from toa payoh and reasonably ok in standard which I can join? I don't mind playing easy, "tan4 jia4" songs again, as long as the orchestra members have a certain level of musicality, like good 音准...lol.
