This election was supposed to bring historic turn-out among young votes. Right?
Well, turns out there was actually only a 1% increase in the young voter share of the total voting public. A few states saw increases of 4 or 5 percent, but in key battleground states (Pennsylvania, Ohia, Florida) the share actually dropped from 3-5%.
Total votes cast increased by about 4 million. That means, roughly, given the figures we have so far, only 40,000 additional voters ages 18-29 voted. Yikes.
