enragedsilver Summary: He'd finally caught him, but what to do with him now? The boy was more stubborn than he'd initially thought, but he'd crack... they all did... eventually.
.~~~Chapter 9~~~.****
He walked happily behind them, trusting them fully. They said that they had a surprise for him, but that it was inside of the basement. They'd had him blindfolded throughout the whole ride, so he didn't know what basement they were talking about. Maybe they had a new house?
"Come on dear. Just a little more and I'll take the blindfold off. Don't be scared..." He heard a woman's voice say to him. For some reason he trusted that voice and it brought him comfort.
He smiled behind the blindfold. "Ish it a new towy?" His missing teeth made his speech slurred slightly. He felt happiness as he imagined what the surprise could be.
"Yes sweetie... it's a toy. Bet you can't guess what though." A man responded lightly as they continued to lead him, both people holding onto his hands since he couldn't see where he was going.
He heard a door being opened as he was pulled into what appeared to be a larger room. It was cooler than the other rooms he'd traveled through.
"Okay sweetie. I need you to stand over here for mommy, okay?" The woman he now understood was his mother, said kindly. He followed her directions of standing in place and not moving. He suddenly felt something cold tighten around his ankle through his pants and jumped slightly at the feeling. He felt his mother shush him and for some reason he heard her semi sob. When he tried to walk towards her, he heard the sounds of chains moving. His young mind couldn't comprehend what was happening.
"Mommwy... I'm scwared." He reached blindly for her hand, but only grasped thin air.
"Honey, you knew this would happen and you insisted in being here. Calm down." The man whispered to his mother. He suddenly felt someone getting closer to him and untying the blindfold. The dim light of the room suddenly entered his closed eyelids and as he opened them slowly he glanced around.
"Daddy?" He questioned the man, wondering what was going on as he saw his mother crying silently in front of him.
"It's okay sweetie. Your Mommy is just..." the man sighed as he covered his eyes with one hand momentarily before continuing, his eyes seemed a little misty after he brought the hand down and looked at his son. He knelt down in front of him and held onto his hands. "Min... I'm sorry sweetie. You have to stay here for a little while, okay? You can't be seen and this is... this is the only way to make sure that nothing happens to you..." His father suddenly hugged him tightly as he began to tremble, he didn't understand what was happening or why his mother was crying. "There are bad people trying to get you. We can't let them get you son. Promise me, if you ever find yourself with someone you don't know and that's trying to get you, that you'll run, okay? Always try to get away, never give up! Even when you think you can't, Always run... You can only trust in us and the person that will be taking care of you, okay?"
"Whoat?" He asked confused as he returned his dad's hug.
"Promise Min!" His father said a little more sternly and the little boy agreed immediately.
He noticed his mother coming closer and suddenly she spoke in a raspy voice.
"Honey, be a good boy for Mommy and behave, okay? *sob* We'll be back as soon as we can... someone will take care of you while we're out. I-I don't know how long we'll be gone... o-or how often we can visit you... I'm sorry baby... *sobbing* b-but this is for your own good." She then hugged him tightly too, along with the man that was still holding him.
Both his parents let him go and he felt tears leaking out of his eyes, but still didn't understand what was happening.
They were moving towards the door, his mother relying on his father as she sobbed disconsolately as they stared at him. His little heart hammered in his chest. Why were they leaving him alone?
Through the door came a kind looking old woman. He heard from far away as his father told her to take good care of him. Saw how he gave her the key to the thing holding his ankle.
"You can only trust in her Min. Don't trust in anyone else... okay sweetie?" His father said, looking sadly back at his soon, as he started to walk through the door.
"no...No....NO!" He started to say whispering, but suddenly shouted. Panic started to set in as he started to realize this was real. That they weren't joking.
"Daddy! Mommwy! NOOOO..." He yelled as he tried to follow them towards the door. He suddenly fell when the chain wouldn't go any further.
"DON'T LEAWE ME!!!" He began to desperately try to remove it so that he could follow his parents. He suddenly realized the old lady coming closer and yelled some more, backing away from her in fear. This couldn't be happening... this wasn't real...

Changmin cried out as he woke up from the nightmare he'd been having. His heart hammered in his chest as tears rolled down his eyes. Sweat rolled down his torso and he looked around himself with wide frightened eyes. When he felt the weight of something cold on his ankle he began to scream hysterically, clawing at his ankle desperately to try to take it off, seemingly still caught up by his nightmare. He saw as someone came closer to him, he immediately backed away from said person, hitting the headboard while still screaming... not really seeing the person coming near him because his eyes were blurry with his tears.
"Ssshh, ssshhh.... it was just a dream Minnie." A kind voice made its way through his hysterical mind and he felt soothed and safe in it. Suddenly, he wasn't looking to escape that person anymore. He followed the blurry shape and clung to it desperately.
"P-please...please... please don't leave me alone." He shakily said like a mantra through his sobs. He didn't notice how the person stiffened in his embrace, didn't notice how the other didn't react at all, all he cared about was feeling the warmth the other body offered him.
The warmth soothed him and he buried his head into the person's neck. The scent was familiar. He hiccupped occasionally as he started to calm down, suddenly feeling drained. He felt how the other person slowly wrapped his arms around his waist and sighed as contentment flooded him. His body started to feel heavy. He could recognize how he was slowly falling asleep to the steady breath of that other person, but refused to give even an inch of his hold.
He fluttered his eyes a little, but couldn't hold them open anymore and let them close slowly, releasing a big sigh combined with a short hiccup from all the crying he'd experienced. He felt his body slowly descending to the bed, but he didn't let go of his grip on the other person, he even whispered no adamantly when the other tried to separate from him.
Slowly he fell into a deep sleep, but he never let go of that other person.

Jaejoong looked into the face that now seemed to sleep peacefully in his arms. How he'd ended up in this position was a little blurry to him. One minute he was tranquilly observing as Changmin tossed and turned on the bed after having noticed the erratic behavior from the monitors and decided to go into the room, the next he was attempting to bring Changmin back to his senses in what he hoped was a soothing way, only to have Changmin cling to him as if he would fade away, and then he'd ended up reclining on the bed while Changmin laid practically on top of him, clinging to his neck tightly, while he slept deeply but seemingly calmly. That last part happened because he couldn't very well stay standing while Changmin slept kneeling on the bed. He'd attempted to dislodge Changmin from his neck as he laid him down, but the other just wouldn't let go and when he'd heard that pleading 'no' escape those lips he'd felt his heart constrict and let the other lie down with him.
Jaejoong felt as his heart beat rapidly within his chest and didn't understand why he was even nervous. It felt weird to be in this position, especially with someone who was suppose to be his toy and nothing more.
It felt especially weird to have worried that much when he'd seen Changmin so out of control... or how scared he was to think that maybe he'd finally lost his mind.
Changmin sighed shakily on his chest and he automatically brought a hand up to caress his back, trying to comfort the sleeping man he currently held. He saw as Changmin moved his face on his chest, as if caressing it with his cheek, and noticed the small contented smile that briefly appeared on his face. The arms around his neck disentangled briefly, only to entangle around his waist as Changmin got impossibly closer to him, tightening his arms around him.
Jaejoong felt as a small wave of heat traveled to his face, but he regained control of himself and it cooled significantly shortly after.
As he laid there, he wondered once more why Changmin had reacted that way again. Was he dreaming about being chained up? Was he the villain in his dreams too? Why the fuck did he care anyway?
He frowned at his thoughts. If Park didn't have that information by tomorrow evening he was going to castrate him. He sensed that something really bad must have happened to Changmin... the question was what?
Slowly, the steady rhythm of Changmin's breaths started to lull him to sleep. With the last remains of his consciousness he thought of how this was the first time he'd ever slept next to anyone and of how nice it felt to have a warm body next to his own. Slowly his hand stopped its caressing motion and rested protectively on the small of Changmin's back as he fell into deep sleep himself.
Only the camera still recording caught the small smile that lifted his lips as he slept peacefully for the first time in as long as Jaejoong could remember.
*******
The first thing that made it through to his consciousness was that he was warm. The second was that he was comfortable. Third, that he had drooled on something hard that seemed to be providing that warmth. And finally... that that's the deepest he's ever slept in his entire life.
Changmin groggily opened his eyes, fighting against the sunlight that made it through the one small window located beyond where his bars ended. He was extremely confused of what had happened the previous day. Couldn't seem to remember much of anything, but could feel as if a hammer had been going at his head. His eyes felt heavy and puffy. His head ached and the rest of his body did too. Maybe because he hadn't moved much since he fell asleep?
He slowly picked up his head, absentmindedly wiping some drool off of his face while still semi sleepy, and had a mini heart attack that woke him up completely when he noticed that he was relying on Hero, aka Jaejoong... aka his kidnapper. He tried to separate himself from the body he was relying on, but felt some pressure around his back and chanced a look at what was holding him down. He gasped loudly and immediately looked back towards Jaejoong's face in shock. Jaejoong was actually holding him! And for some reason the knowledge had his heart pumping fast.
When he swallowed he realized that his throat was dry, but couldn't bring himself to wake Jaejoong to request water. As he relied on his elbow and the arm around his back, he began to notice how serene Jaejoong looked when unguarded. It was rare for him to be able to observe the other's features without those daunting eyes staring him down, so he took this opportunity to really look at him. He stared at the milky white skin, at the long lashes that fanned across his cheeks, at how his hair looked in disarray but still looked incredibly good, and at how his lips were a light pink when relax... wondering how those same lips could turn red with the right stimulation.
He shook his head, trying to clear his mind of those images only to have flashes of what happened yesterday come back to him. He remembered the chains, what Jaejoong had told him, and how he'd blacked out after he'd cried hysterically to be freed. He frowned at his reaction. Where the hell had that come from?
But even now, when he was aware of the weight on his ankle, he felt that it was familiar somehow... and that it caused him to panic a little inside. But now that he had his mind in check, he didn't feel as desperate as he'd felt yesterday. How odd.
Then, images of his dream came back. So vivid that they felt like a memory more than a dream. He could feel the same fear and emotions of that dream as if it was just yesterday that it happened... but he couldn't understand them. It was strange how vivid the dream felt... and then he remembered the person that made him feel so much better in his distressed state.
His eyes widened as he recalled what he'd done and his jaw dropped when he realized that person had been Jaejoong all along. He frowned. Nothing made sense!
Jaejoong stirred awake and Changmin's heart stopped beating for a second as he held his breath.
"Ow..." Jaejoong stretched, releasing Changmin from his hold, and yawned.
Changmin stared on, flabbergasted, that Jaejoong could look so human and puzzled as to why he couldn't do something right now to get his freedom. He could easily have taken Jaejoong by surprise in his most vulnerable state, yet he didn't. For some reason he felt grateful to him for having been there for him when he'd freaked out, and he couldn't shake the feelings of comfort and safety he'd felt in those arms.
Once Jaejoong was done stretching he realized where he was and immediately sat up, the sheets he'd pulled on them some time during the night pooled at his waist, and he immediately cradled Changmin's cheek in one hand, looking into his eyes, while he asked, "Are you okay Minnie?" in a soothing voice.
Changmin couldn't hold onto the concerned gaze for long and looked down while a blush covered his cheeks. He was embarrassed of how he'd acted as well as flustered that Jaejoong showed that much concerned to him after everything that'd happened.
He suddenly felt Jaejoong's hand retract suddenly, causing his eyes to widen and for him to look at Jaejoong once more in shock. Jaejoong had stood up abruptly, leaving Changmin puzzled and saddened that the guarded face was back and that the other looked so serious.
"I'll go bring you breakfast. You must be hungry." Was all Jaejoong said before he abruptly left the barred area and locked everything mechanically.
Changmin stayed looking at him in bewilderment. Wondering how someone could be so caring one minute and so cold the next minute. He shook his head and sighed as he reclined on the bed. He wondered how he was going to deal with everything after what happened.
****
Jaejoong felt shaky after what he'd experience in a short amount of time. After he'd closed the door to the peach room he'd relied heavily on the door, his whole body trembling as it fought with conflicting emotions. He gathered himself and made sure he was still alone before standing tall. He needed a shower to gather himself. It'd be quick, since he knew that Changmin hadn't eaten since their activities last night, so he must be starving. After he'd fed Changmin he'd contact Park. He couldn't proceed with anything until he knew what the hell was wrong with Changmin. Once he'd planned half of the day, he felt better and proceeded to do as he'd said he'd do.
****
Changmin needed to go to the bathroom, but didn't want to face the reality that he'd be on a leash now, so had held it in as much as possible. He couldn't anymore though, so he reluctantly got the sheets off his naked body and looked hatefully at the thing holding onto his ankle. He looked at it, barely noticing how the claw like design looked like a work of art, and how he hadn't seen that yesterday. He inspected it, seeing if there was a way to get it off, but saw that it must have a hidden key hole since he couldn't see any. It must blend in with the design. He shook his head, pissed off that he couldn't even find the damn hole so that he could attempt picking the lock, and just got off the bed.
He immediately winced at the pain he felt in his lower back and immediately held onto it with one hand as he grimaced. Oh yeah, yesterday had also been one of Hero's 'sessions' with him. He willed himself not to blush and proceeded to the bathroom.
After he'd finished with his business, he decided to take a shower. He needed it and it'd help relax his sore muscles. That decided, he proceeded to shower.

Jaejoong doesn't believe he's ever experienced such an awkward experience before. When he'd brought Changmin his breakfast, it'd been a silent affair. He couldn't bring himself to tease him and couldn't seem to find a topic to talk about. He couldn't ask him why he'd behaved that way yesterday... just couldn't... so they'd avoided each other's gaze and ate the food in silence, each in their own corner. Jaejoong couldn't remember ever having such a tasteless meal before, at least not one he'd cooked himself.
Still, Jaejoong couldn't help but glance at Changmin every now and then to make sure the other was eating normally. On his short little observations he was able to notice Changmin seemed more... he couldn't exactly pinpoint the emotion he wanted to portray, but he seemed calmer than he'd ever been during his state. For some reason, a little pale too, but he suppose that was due to the little light that made its way to the spacious room. Every once in a while he'd notice the other one blush from time to time, and it always seem to happen when he'd meet his gaze by accident.
Jaejoong had only ever seen him blush when they were in sexual situations before, never in a normal setting, so he was puzzled by Changmin's reaction. He remembered the many other couples that he'd seen go through this process and felt himself blush as he realized that Changmin might actually... like him. He stopped himself though. Felt stupid for blushing at finding out that fact... and of having his heart speed up and a warm feeling encompass it. It couldn't be true. Changmin was probably just embarrassed that he'd seen him at his weakest. In the few weeks he'd known him, he seemed like a very proud individual. Someone who fought and didn't back down. So for Jaejoong to have witness him in a crying mess must have hurt his pride and made him all meek now. He couldn't find out the solution to get his old Changmin back. He supposed finding out what Park found would help.
He took out his cell phone to call said person and dialed while still looking at the screen monitor that had Changmin sitting on the bed looking lost.
"Hello, Park Yoochun here." Jaejoong heard the other man say.
"Park! Where the hell is the information I requested?! What the hell are you doing?" Jaejoong said angrily through the phone.
"Sorry Sir. The information you requested is complicated to find... seems the boy had a complex past that I'm still trying to find out." Park answered politely.
"So you have nothing?!" Jaejoong asked incredulous.
"I have some of his information, but didn't want to hand you the information until it was complete... would you like an incomplete report Sir?" Park asked hesitantly.
Jaejoong sighed. He wondered what could be so complicated. Making up his mind he answered in a calm voice, "Give me the incomplete report. Whenever you find out the rest... just send it over immediately. Hurry it up Park, before I decide you're dispensable."
With that Jaejoong hung up the phone and didn't wait for the detective to answer. He massaged his temples, trying to relax. A few minutes passed and his fax machine beeped, signifying a new fax was coming through. Park could be speedy when he wanted to.
He got up from his chair and walked towards the fax machine, picking up the few pages gathered and browsed through the information. As he read through the file he could feel as his brow furrowed further.
He skimmed down the pages and when he was done placed them on top of his desk. Apparently the information that Park couldn't find was on Changmin's earlier childhood. The information he read didn't indicate anything of why Changmin would react that way when he'd chained him... unless the adoption center chained the children to their beds. He'd make sure to tell Park to find out more information on that adoption center.
Apparently, Changmin had been found unconscious in an alley not too far from the orphanage. He didn't have identification on him and when he'd recovered from the bruises on his body and a sprained ankle he'd not been able to inform the police who his parents were or what his name was other than that his first name was Changmin. He'd been at the orphanage for approximately two years before he was adopted by the nice Shim family, where he'd grown up and befriended Jung Yunho, his current best friend. His family wasn't rich, so he couldn't attend college due to the lack of funds and because he had to help with his families bills. He'd still moved out, due to the distance of his job and with hopes to one day afford the education of his little sister, but other than that he had a plain existence. Otherwise, he seemed to be a healthy, happy young man... so why would he react that way yesterday?
Jaejoong looked at the monitor once more, pondering whether he should proceed as he'd planned or change his plans once more.
A flash of Changmin's desperate face as he'd been chained yesterday made up his mind. He couldn't proceed as he'd planned.
Sigh, change of plans once more Hero. He looked up at the monitor and noticed how Changmin seemed to be trembling. Was he muttering something too? He leaned closer to the screen and saw his lips repeating something as he rocked slightly from side to side while holding onto his knees, the trembling seemed minute. He frowned, maybe he'd gotten sick?
He got up and went to check on his... he frowned when he realized he couldn't place what Changmin was to him. What the hell was going on?
