Well, I didn't tell any of my online friends this, but I was nominated for Volunteer of the Year from the panhandle of NE. And I was one of the volunteers that was chosen to go to the capital. (There were other volunteers from NE there, but I was the only one from the panhandle). My dad and my brother and I went to the capital Tuesday night and stayed with some friends and then in the morning we left and went to the capital and ate donuts and had juice (or coffee) with the Senators. Then we went to a briefing and then ate lunch at the Cornhusker in Lincoln. We got to sit with two senators, one of them was Erdman, which was our senator, and I don't remember the other one. But anyway, we all sat down and Erdman came and sat with us and somebody started introducing us to him, so he stood back up and shook hands with all of us and then sat down again and then a speaker said,' Would Jacee A----- and Senator Erdman come up here please.' So we went up to the stage and he read the little speech about me and gave me the award and then the speaker handed me a navy blue tee that said Find The Best @ Your Library. Then we went back and sat down. Before lunch the volunteers were allowed to go into the legislator and everbody that came with the volunteers had to sit up in a balcony to watch. And Lane was taking pictures and a man came over in a uniform and asked him to turn off the flash to his camera. So at lunch Senator Erdman is like 'So are you the guy the cops yelled at for taking pictures?' (Or something to that effect. I know he said 'cops') Obviously he thought it was pretty funny. My boss was in the balcony too and I think they asked that she turned her flash off too. But it was cool to be in there. And after that we ate lunch. It took a while to find a place to park, because all the signs said 2 Hour Parking and we were obviously going to be there for more than two hours. We ended up parking in the Cornhusker Parking Garage. Level 4. That's the Blue Level.
Lane thought that we were going back to the capital to take pictures with the senators, but we didn't, so he didn't have his camera with him at lunch. But my boss saved the day. She took a couple of pictures and printed them off and put them on the bulletin board in the back room at the library. So I made some copies and took them home. (Of course!) And later she gave me a cd-r with pictures on them. When I went to work this morning they were calling me a celebrity. They said they were going to get my autograph. After lunch (at the Cornhusker) Senator Erdman left and about ten minutes later we left. We arrived home around six o'clock. Everybody at the capital and the Cornhusker said the volunteers needed to be senators. Erdman said if a senator was needed he would give them my name and he would also vote for me if I ran. If I can, I'll find a way to put the pictures (or at least one of them) on here so you can see if you want.
I left work this morning and left my wallet there. So I went home and couldn't find it. It was in my locker at the library. I called and wanted to make sure it was there because I wanted to know if I might have dropped it some where else (which would have been bad since it has some important cards in it) And when I went back to the library, I found out that Elissa went through my wallet! That girl! I was told she was looking for money . . . suure I bet she was. She's probably an indentity thief. I should check the contents of my wallet.
