Last night I was fucking around on the bass.
I went into, and hung out in the upper register - not a me thing to do. To balance this out, I threw in some "chord" type playing - which I usuall center around fifths and thirds.
After a bit, I hit on something I liked. So I was thinking - ooh, this is pretty cool! Then I just needed some sort of alteration, preferably to move towards a bridge. Here is where I usually get stuck. When this happens, I usually just repeat what I am doing, throwing in some stuff every so often until I find something that sticks.
While repeating this, my eyebrow raised a bit... "Hrm", I thought. "This definitely has a Modest Mouse sound and feel to it." Naturally, the next thought was "How do they tend to break into a bridge?"
And this is when I discovered that I stumbled upon the bassline to "Dramamine".
Such an idiot.
