Poor neglected journal. I think of things during the day to write in here and then I never seem to get an uninterrupted moment to actually do it. Ah well. The kids will be grown someday.
Since I popped in last time, I had a birthday. It was the tiny one between the other big birthdays of the week. Right after the United States of America and right before the current President of the United States--it got much less press. We're pretty low key about birthdays which I like. My husband bought me a cake (chocolate with buttercream frosting, yum) my son bought me a card and my daughter gave me a piece of paper with kitty stickers on it. Then hubby took the kids while I went to get my hair done. All in all not a bad way to spend a birthday.
I've been taking classes this summer in preparation for renewing my teaching license. The one I took last week was very good. It was my favorite kind--make and take. I have a whole bunch of literacy activities *and* recertification credit. Love it. The same teacher also has one on math activites which I think I will try to get into this summer or next.
We took the kids to the amusement park over the July 4 weekend. My son had a great time on the rides that go round and round and make my husband and I sick to our stomachs--they didn't use to. My daughter was afraid to ride anything until right before we were ready to go and then she decided that she wanted to ride the Merry-Go-Round which she did 5 times in a row. Reminder for next year: do NOT let them talk you into riding the water rides.
And in weather news...it's finally raining!!!
