Dude, I had the same reaction! What the fuck!? I was tempted to choose "Laura edited his profile," but Facebook, MAYBE I DON'T WANT TO CHOOSE A GENDER! Then again, maybe Facebook is telling me, "LCA, seriously, you're cisgendered and you need to stop being all high and mighty and embrace the fact that you have an assigned and agreed-upon pronoun. But I DON'T WANT TO.

Did they change it? I thought Facebook uses 'they' and 'their' for folks who haven't specified a gender.

They do use neutral pronouns, but the point of the box is to get you to choose so you don't "confuse" people.

ugh i got it too, same reaction. my "feed may confuse people"? because these "people" will see me referred to as "they" and their brains will just break? well i guess i'm ok with that.

RARGH, just went back to facebook and it's back up at the top of my home page even though i already closed it last time. why isn't there an "ignore" button on this?
