We love our circuses!

Crises in the health system? Worst drought in 100 years? Level 4 water restrictions on the horizon? No worries! The answer is fireworks!

There was a huge turnout for the annual Riverfire last night. Half an hour of simultaneous fireworks from three barges moored in the river and five building tops, all set to music and bookended by that crowd favourite, a fuel-dump and burn from 2 F1-11s swooping low overhead along the river reaches.

We know it's wasteful. We know it's a diversion. But it's SO MUCH FUN!

F1-11 fuel dump and burn. So fast. So loud. So hot.

The last two Riverfires I have been privileged as a friend of mine has been living right in a prime Riverfire viewing spot on the bend of the river so that you have views down both reaches and across to the city. So instead of jostling for a spot along the riverbanks from early afternoon we can come late, enjoy nibblies and wine, enjoy the spectacle in comfort from a choice of two balconies and then enjoy a buffet dinner.

What a great way to spend a Saturday night.:)
