Best day ever!
Well that was the most amazing day of my life so far! I'm still all excited in the tummy. I hardly slept last night. Every time I woke up I screeched ELEPHANTS in my brain. And then having to look at the other animals was just ridiculous. Who cares about other animals when there are elephants to be washed and fed apple to? Not me that's for sure!
So when it was FINALLY time to begin we went into the enclosure and got a safety talk. I wasn't really listening because Mek Kapah and Dokkoon were so close. I thought just being that close to the girls couldn't be topped...but oh yes. Then Mek Kapah lay down on her side and Laura and I were suddenly touching her, rubbing her with soapy water and scrubbing brushes. The keepers, Vinnie and Steve, were awesome. I didn't learn anything about elephants that I didn't already know but I could listen to them talk forever. Pity Tully wasn't there but I don't think I could have handled THAT much excitement! Then Mum and Dad got to wash. Ohoh I forgot that I got to feed Kapah a piece of apply while she was lying down. I had to tap her cheek and then she put her trunk up to get it. I GOT TO TOUCH HER TRUNK. Deep breath. Ok. So then everyone else had a wash and I got to wash her other side. And then I hosed her down. And then I was sad because I thought it was over but IT WASN"T! Then she was standing up and Steve was telling me I could give her more apple. I had to stand directly opposite her and reach out my hand with the apple in it. Then when he said it was ok she reached out her trunk and took the apple. She was happy. Awwww. And then I got up really close and patted her on her trunk. I don't think patted is a word. And that was the coolest thing that I have EVER done. Beats sex...drugs...rock n roll.
