Last week my co-author Philip Reeve and I travelled from Devon to the
BookTastic Bedford Book Festival for a big stage event, and it was brilliant! We got to present the Adventuremice books to children who'd been bused into the University of Bedford and also to children watching from their schools online. And
thanks to the generous sponsors, every single child got their own signed book to take away and read!

I'm going to post quite a lot of photos here, because festival photographer Chiara MacCall took some of the best photos we've ever had of our events! They really capture the spirit of both the event and the children's enthusiasm. Thank you so much for the great photos, and for letting me share the, Chiara! (She's
@CallChiara on Twitter and
chichi76.myreflection on Instagram.)

Here's fantastic
Rachael Rogan, who invited us, and who led the amazing team who ran the festival. Thank you for all your hard work and passion to get children reading, Rachael!

Drawing's always a key part of our Reeve & McIntyre events and, I believe, an important way to inspire a connection between children and reading, and making up their own stories.

...And a few of my own pics. Trust Philip to look better in a pillbox hat than I do:
Before we left we saw poet A.F. Harrold and managed to get a photo, before his co-author Mini Grey arrived for their joint event. (It was great to see them both!)
And here's Rachael Rogan with the photographer who took all those fantastic earlier photos, Chiara MacCall!
Huge thanks to Rachael, Chiara, Paul Masters and the whole team of top-notch volunteers! It was great to to meet you!
