Who Darted?

I played the best game of 501 of my life, and perhaps the best game of darts in general of my life, last night. I don't know how many of you even know the rules to 501 (in a quick sentence, you start with 501 points and you have to be the first to work your way to zero, but you have to hit zero by an exact count, and the last throw you make to win ( Read more... )

I don't think the Tivoli has uniforms, nor do I believe they have as long as I've been going there (1997), just a formal dress requirement, much as the Hi-Pointe did when I worked there (under the Landmark Regime). It is a Wehrenberg Theatres uniform from the 1990s, though (maroon vest, aquamarine/turquoise bow-tie).

My friend and former roommate Matt, who was assistant manager at the Hi-Pointe at the time (not the 1990s, but the time I'm about to talk about), made a movie about working at a movie theatre (or really any crappy minimum wage job) called Diary Of A Co-Worker there (at the Hi-Pointe) and I had a featured part therein (I played the devil-may-care teenage stoner co-worker). You can see a trailer and a slideshow of stills and a gallery of stills at the link above. I'm not sure how easy it is to get a copy of the DVD, I just know I have one, and it is spectacular by any standard. The image is of myself and the star of the movie hanging out on the roof of the Hi-Pointe. I'm drinking a can of Labatt Blue. The icon with this comment is another still from the movie, from where I attack an unruly, unhappy customer (or rather, counter-attack after he attacks the main character). Matt got the uniforms from having worked at Wehrenberg back in the day, though, and as I recall, considered them an important part of the aesthetic of the movie (and rightly so, especially for anyone that would recognize it as the former Wehrenberg Theatres uniform anywhere).

I do not believe I know Kim Roberts.

Remarkable! I got my movie theater wires crossed. Guess I have been away from STL too long. Looks like a good film
