SLIFF On The March!

I have now attended 13 SLIFF events this year. All but one were very awesome and well worth my while. The one that was not was due to a variety of things. In addition to just not really caring for the movie, the (DVD) print was horrible, I had the worst toothache of my life that night, driving to Plaza Frontenac was a particularly crappy ( Read more... )

The movie sounds pretty interesting, and the trailer looks good. It's not available on Netflix yet (not even to save). Is it going to be in theaters ever (and widespread enough that Omaha would get it)?

Are we Netflix friends? I don't think so. Let's become Netflix friends?

I hope you like Jump Tomorrow, I really am one of three people I know who have seen it (and the other two are people to whom I showed it). I understand it isn't for everyone, but I saw it in an empty theatre at Plaza Frontenac back in fall 2001 on the last day it was in the theatre there, and immediately loved it, got the DVD the second it was released, sent a letter to the director (never did hear back, now he's making some movie with Dustin Hoffman!), et cetera. The singer of that band TV On The Radio is the lead actor in it.

As for DVD: That is an excellent question, and I don't know the answer for sure. It HAS been very successful in its festival run (the director said last night it has played 45 festivals and won top honors at 20 of them, which is an unheard-of success rate--however, he also said that SLIFF was pretty much the biggest/most prestigious festival it had yet played, and again, it has a new edit, et cetera et cetera), and that can count for something. Really I am unfamiliar with the way things work when it comes to that. All I can do is befriend the MySpace page and cross my fingers, I guess ( ... )
