The gallery opening went well. I don't know if we sold anything but I did get to draft an email for a prospective client. It was fun talking with people; I met an artist who had put together an exhibition about Cuban art. He knows someone who is doing work on Mexican candy wrappers. :) I also figured out what to say to Carolina Sardi, the only artist exhibiting that was at the opening. I love her work so much! I want "Red Nest" because of the many different colored shadows... I basically went up to her and was like "You're from Argentina. I'm going there in two weeks....What should I do?" She told me that I should eat. Then we got interrupted but at least I talked with her! I probably should have asked her to sign something (my forehead?) but oh well. Pending and the Tool showed up and that was lovely. Kudos to y'all. We also got to know people from EP Theatre who were trying to promote their theatre. They had three pieces, one of which was a knife with a hinge titled "Apologia." The basic idea of the Theatre is that they get an artwork from an artist, show the piece to a playwright and then the playwright uses the piece as inspiration or in the case of the knife, he or she incorporates it. Massively awesome when people combine different art fields. Otherwise, I also got to have my layout designed biographies displayed with the pieces. Really really nifty.
