as the 2008 olympics are are rapidly approaching, beijing has put the push forward to announce to the world they're ready. the new song released and performed wednesday evening announces to "bj" (as they abbreviate it) and the world that "we are ready."
sung by 133 singers in the world-famous tiananmen square in beijing, the song has such profound lyrics as:
"this land is already prepared,
open the lane for dreams to fly,
let the sight of the whole world land on our bosom,
we are ready."
as catchy as these lyrics are, i am sad to say that a one in a million voice--rather one in ten million (1.3 billion divided by 133)--is not what it used to be. nonetheless, enjoy the song.
