Gentle Readers,
The ladies are off napping while the turkey has its final bit of cooking.
Yesterday went pretty well. I acomplished something productive at work which surprised the heck out of me. Then it was off to replace my other new glasses (not the bloggles) because they were giving me headaches and do some necessity shopping at Canadian Tire. Both Lydia's and my snowshovel had broken and so were replaced.
Canadian Tire wasn't bad, but the Loblaws where I picked up a couple of last minute items for dinner was getting a little crazy. Fortunately no one was getting hostile so I made it out of there in one piece. As a side note, The last few days I've spend a fair amount of time waiting in checkout lines and there is never a Cosmo to flip through while I'm waiting. Don't they understand that I need to know what bizarre sexual practices are being foisted onto their readership as the lastest sure fire way to get his engine running?
That dissapointment aside, we headed home, had a delicious lunch of pseudo-beast and green beans and all had a little break before starting the prep work for dinner.
Dinner went perfectly smoothly except that the salmon, as always, took longer to cook than expected. I'm really dissapointed with the descaling job that Costco did so I think I'm going to make sure I get just a fillet next year.
Almost all of the food got eaten which may have had something to do the fact that our house was very very full.
I'm so glad everyone came.
food,
