Received today in the post, the design was submitted to Threadless by a Twitter friend after a little encouragement from me. She's a horribly talented young lady and she deserves to go far! I was so proud on her behalf when I saw the final product and a little chuffed as well to be partially involved!

So I kinda sorta met someone recently. As soon as we saw each other, we clicked instantly. Bonded through a love of Doctor Who, she has short pixie hair and thick rimmed glasses which are both a weakness of mine. We get on so well and the sex was fantastic!
Sounds great doesn't it.
Couple of problems, she's married. It's an open arrangement they have so it's not like we have to sneak around. But widdle insecure me doesn't want to share. Oh and she went back to the US this morning too. I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally know how to pick 'em don't I. #FML

But yeah, it was fun while it lasted. And we're going to keep in touch, no point in going over all the "what if's" and "could have been's". She's fantastic and I knew the situation from the start so it's not like this was unexpected. Sometimes you just have to be grateful for these people who come into your life for a brief moment. Enjoy what you have while you have it yadda yadda yadda.
Also, it did kind of help that an old acquaintence of mine out of the blue made a pass at me with the chat up line, "I want to kiss you but I don't know if I should". She's very unsure about it ever going further which suits me fine as I'm not out for the next big romance right now and I'm happy for it to be a one-off. Seeing her again on friday so we shall see...
I know, I'm terrible!
Following up
this post, I finally got around to seeing my friend and his mother last friday. She's very obviously weak physically but still sharp as a tack. I'm glad I got the chance to see her, it's still sinking in but I did tell my friend to call me when the time comes. It was a great night and he cooked a whole load of enchiladas which were delish. I hope I get to see them both soon before the end.
Anyway, this is getting dangerously emo now so...

I got a call from
Den of Geek last week! I was getting a bit frustrated as they hadn't been returning my emails for a few weeks, but I got some great feedback on my work so far! And the editor said he wants as many words from me as humanly possible! I've been invited for a coffee and a chat on Thursday, and hopefully I'll not only have tix to a press screening of Scott Pilgrim in the future but also a Ready to Air account which is fantastic for a tv geek like me! Media career here I come!

This new series of Doctor Who has been nothing short of fantastic so far! Even the naff Nu-New-Dalek one had its high points, like the Dalek serving tea and the Independance-Day-except-Awesome Spitfires in space sequence!
My main and only real criticism so far is the Whedone-sque* habit of overwriting a scene. Dropping in quick witticisms like "you left the brakes on!", it just comes across a bit snarky and takes you out of the drama a bit because it feels forced. But then it's easily forgiven because unlike the RTD era, there's proper resolutions, playing around with the concept and more than a vague anti-authority streak running though! Anti-establishment fairytales being shown at a prime time slot as one of the highlights of the weekend? You don't get THAT with Star Trek!
I'm starting to think that the crack in space this series has something to do with Billie Piper's smile...
