A Night on the Town

Tuesday was a fun night. Caro and I went to the American Idol taping with Jack, RuPaul, Dom, Billy, and baby Dommie (who was quite a hit with all the ladies around us, and he loved them, too). Quentin Tarantino was the guest judge for Movie Night, and being his usual quite-the-character self. Everyone did well and some did better than well. This was the week of everyone really stepping it up.

Then we headed off to the Lakers game. Jack and RuPaul smuggled George and Fantasia away from Idol, and I hardly recognized those two after Ru was done with them! I don't think anyone recognized them. George looks very sweet in pink ;) Dommie loved Ru and George and kept grabbing for their hair. Caro tried to distract him with her hair, since hers wouldn't come off, but I guess Dommie prefers blonds. All the women around us at the game cooed over Dommie, too, and even some of the Laker Girls (the cheerleaders) stopped by to play with him. There were enough people to explain the game to Caro and I so that we were able to follow what was going on, at least overall. Basketball moves even faster than football (that is, soccer, for you Americans) but the ball is bigger and we were sitting closer, so it was easy to follow. Caro and I had a great time (I think everyone did) and she really enjoyed meeting everyone.

Last night we watched the Idol show when it was aired, and we both spent the two hours afterwards voting. Tonight we're out to Hannah and John's dirty country party. Caro came up with some old gardening hats, boots, and smocks for us to wear; she thought it would be a cute twist. I think I've got her talked into putting her hair in two braids, one over each ear. I'm so glad she came to LA with me this time; it's a lot more fun with her here.
