Been on summer vacation for a week now. So far, it hasn't been like I expected. I expected I'd be doing a lot more with people from high school and such, but not much has happened thus far. I'm hoping this will change sometime soon.
I've been playing my Master System a decent amount, now that I've won some auctions on eBay to get games cheap. So far I've spent $75 (that includes shipping) and have gotten a master system, four controllers, two dozen games, and a bunch of random accessories (a rapid-fire add-on, EXTRA RF adapters that I don't need, etc.) Among the games are Shinobi, the original Alex Kidd, Double Dragon, and motherfucking Phantasy Star 1 (usually worth $15-20 by itself). Not a bad deal, and it's been pretty entertaining thus far. The only minus is that I'm using RF connections...I've got THREE Master System RF adapters that all suffer from some interference, and my SNES RF adapter ends up working best anyway. So I'm gonna have to buy an AV cable or cut one myself. Most likely buy one, since there's a lot of little details and crap concerning AV cables and early Sega systems. Also, I suck at most every type of cabling except Cat5. But yeah, since I've got a Model 2 Genesis, I won't be able to use the same cable for that as my Master System, which is annoying (why couldn't they be like Nintendo and use the same fucking AV cable for the past 15 years?). That's what I get for buying a Model 2 for $10 instead of splurging for a Model 1 for like $10 more.
But enough of that shit. I'm probably going to be getting a job soon to pay for more game stuff. This Master System took up all of my birthday money, and I'm itching for more. In addition, I plan on learning the ins and outs of shipping crap so that I can sell stuff on eBay. One nice thing is that I have my parent's support for any eBay endeavors, particularly that of my dad since he has a number of things he wishes to sell, among these things are lots of pipes and obscure jazz albums. So I need to figure out about pipes so that I can sell all of those, which will probably get about $100, if that. The albums...whoa. Tons of jazz albums, in plastic sleeves that've kept them in pristine condition...I get myself some free time, I can go through all of them and find out just how many metric shitloads of money they could go for. I'd imagine a decent number of them.
