Apricots, shovels, procrastination...

With no idea whatsoever what my last exam will look like, I am down to reading the textbook sort-of cover-to-cover. This is sufficiently mind-numbing that I'm here instead :P

Write-in yesterday went really well, there were maybe 30 people there, great fun, and I wrote 10,044 words in eight hours :D After a little more writing this morning my word count is now at 17,119, so travelling well.

The novel is finally starting to throw up all the usual cringe factors; there was a brief but terrifying ten minutes yesterday when the whole thing seemed to be developing an unreasonable preoccupation with apricots; our table's three-thirty-itis yesterday afternoon has given my protagonist an unexpected fondness for beer (which is not really a problem, but was amusing yesterday afternoon :P); and his general lack of passionate attachment to most things at plot's beginning is kind of starting to look like he might be a slightly (only slightly!) arrogant jerk in need of a good smack now and then. To be fair, my plot is going to give him a massive, barbed, horrible beating with rocks/shovels (figuratively XD), so. Besides, there's a fine line between confidence and a little arrogance, and it's fun to write a confident, relatively normal, fairly un-angsty character for once ;D

Idek, lol. I'd forgotten how crazy these things are XD At least only one minor character has changed gender so far, so that's a plus :P

So not looking forward to exam the day after tomorrow. As you can tell, study going really well :P

nanowrimo, life
