I just saved a boat load of money on my car insurance by switching to GEICO!
But seriously, I'm excited because the more and more I learn about my job, the more I realize that I made a good move. Why, you may ask? Well, here's some perks that I REALLY like:
1. I can get up when I want to.
2. I can work when I want to.
3. I can work as hard as I want to.
4. I have no boss, because I'm my own boss.
5. You get to meet people (and help them out, too!)
6. It's a very flexible job.
and my favorite reason:
7. I have the potential of making $1000 per family that I help out, which kicks butt out of minimum wage.
And number 7 isn't very hard to pull off, either. Like, I can help 1 family per week, so that means I can make $5,000 per month, and if I times that by 12, I can potentially make $60,000 a year! That pays for TWO YEARS OF COLLEGE! And I only worked part time. The only thing that holds me back is the amount of work I put into it. The way I see it, if I can put at least 1 hour a day into this thing, I can EASILY help 1 family a week. And with this money, I can afford to buy that house, fix it up for a year, rent it afterwards, and I could sell it for well over $100,000 later on down the line. Yet, the more and more I think about it, the more I think I wouldn't sell that house, unless I really had to. It's going to be GORGIOUS if I can get my hands on it, and it's not every day you come across a centinial house that has this much wonderful potential. Making money isn't everything, you know.
Also, Jacob may want to join! My RVP and I are going to go to Zelienople sometime next week to see him and his family, and Jenny said her family wouldn't mind me coming over and talking with them, too! And, Jenny said I could talk to her brother and his wife about it because she thinks they might be interested. Now, I just need to figure out how I can do all of this in one day. It won't be hard, it's just finding the right day. Also, today I'm seeing Zach Vucic's family, next Monday I'm seeing my Aunt Tammi, and next Wednesday I'm seeing Zach Curran's family. I'M EXCITED! YES!
My plans with this new income:
1. Save $10,000, invest it into a savings of 12%, and by the time I'm 61, I'll have $1.28 million. (That's my retirement plan).
2. Get personnal life insurance.
3. Real Estate
4. College
By the time I'm out of college it will be payed for, I'll have a retirement plan, I'll have life insurance, money in my pocket, and I can go to work at schools because I WANT to work, not because I HAVE to work. You see, I don't want a job (Just Over Broke), I want a career. I want to spoil my students through exposure to professional musicians by going to see orchestra concerts and getting to talk to the instrumentalists, and to bring small music groups over to perform for my students, and getting the kids instuments that aren't crappy. I want to do all of this in the hopes that my class will be THE class to be in, and that my class inspires and teaches in an exciting way, and that the kids will GREATLY benefit from all of it. This is my hope and dream, and it's evolved into one of my major goals.
So, in closing, I'm gonna head out to see my RVP and visit her for a bit.
