((dr_schreber and I have created an RP community based on the film 'Dark City'. It can be found here.
The setting is the City, post-film, with John Murdoch now in control of maintaining everything. The Strangers are gone.
We have a Murdoch, a Schreber, and an Anna (though Anna's player is willing to negotiate if anyone's desperately interested in playing her). So, here's the deal: We need players. We need OCs.
Murdoch is currently looking for someone(s) to apprentice to Dr. Schreber to help maintain the Strangers' machines. He is also looking for someone with tuning abilities similar to his own, to train to help him maintain the City itself. He realizes this is a long shot.
Ideally, we'd like these OCs to have been born and raised in the environment of Dark City, but we're also happy to have characters from outside the City (OCs or other fandoms), provided you're willing to work within the rules of the environment.
If you have plotty ideas about bringing characters like Bumstead, Walenski, or even one or two of the Strangers back from the dead, we are open to the concept.
The only caveat is that we can't really have any characters who are more psychically powerful than Murdoch himself, because that sort of upsets the connection to canon we're trying to maintain. I realize that may make me sound like Miss Queen Powergamer, but anyone who's played with me should know I'm not really like that. (Or, at least, if I am, no one's mentioned it to me and I need to be smacked with a cluebat. o_O;)
We're leaving it as an open community (feel free to tell us 'OMG bad idea!') at the moment, but we ask that anyone who wants to join talk with me or dr_schreber OOC first so that we can work out the logistics of who/what you'd like to play, if you're interested.
