Easter Fun!!

Apr 08, 2005 02:26

Back when I was a young, pseudo-God-fearing freshman at UPS, my dear friend Kristen invited me to her family's house out in Puyallup for Easter. I love her parents, the fabulous Roy and Judy Kent. And even though I'm a bit more of a heathen now, I'm pretty sure they at least sort of like me because they've had me out for Easter every year since, even last year when Kristen was abroad in Europe. Easters at the Kents have been a wonderful part of Tacoma springtimes, and I thought I would share the glory of the lastest Easter extravaganza with all of you lovelies in photopost form!

Easter: or, Who Let that Ugly Beast into the Tulip Beds?

Obviously a key element of Easter festivities is awesome food, including ham and appetizers such as devilled eggs. Here you see Jared and Elaine lovingly preparing a gigantic platter of the yolky goodness.

Here we are at the dinner table. We've already stuffed our bodies full of succulent ham, cheesy potatoes, delicious salad with gorgonzola and cranberries and candied walnuts (prepared by myself and K-Bish, of course) and those awesome devilled eggums from the last photo. Mmmmm... The Kents decided that we would have prizes, so we all got a grab bag with a fun Easter gift inside. Jared got some sweet bunny shades.

Julia got a ghetto-fabulous doll that has some fucked up make-up going on. It really puts the "Doll" back in "Dollar Store."

Actually, that doll appears to bear a striking resemblance to Julia on Halloween sophomore year. What do you think?

But moving right along, we now leave the Easter table for the great outdoors. A major element of the Easter tradition is the annual trip to the tulip patch! Tulipatch! Kristen has a crazy vest that we take to the tulips every year, and we make sure everyone has at least one photo taken of them that includes both the vest and flowers. Here's everyone's flower/vest shot!

Look at how adorable we all are, standing in the gazebo!!

Things were definitly looking cute. A little TOO cute, I thought, and boy was I right. Things were way too good to be true, for we soon discovered that lurking in the daffodils were evil Tulip Trolls, which bore a damn striking resemblance to Erik, Katie, and myself. Watch out! They bite!

But then the real Erik and Katie struck back with the force of unstoppable beauty.

And Erik did his best impression of a nekkid marbled youth.

Which drew all the Tulip beauties to him, making a lovely end to a lovely Easter day.

Thanks for coming along on this adventure. Stay tuned for more, as my life continues to be ridiculously awesome and documented.
