Many thanks to
sunshyn689and
krausemousefor their advice. It was a rough day for me, but I think it went as smoothly as possible.
I took the advice of calling...left a voice-mail. I also sent the e-mail (with a few minor changes) because I knew he would be on a time crunch. Then called again to follow up. My heart was pounding like crazy the whole day.
I hate to sound like such a wimp throughout this whole situation. It's just that I've always seen a project through to the end. I've never had to quit partway through. I've never wanted to disappoint anyone. But I knew that this was a much better career choice. Making that decision wasn't hard...but disappointing people I was just starting to get to know was really difficult for me.
But now that I've gotten through the hard part I am really excited for this job. I'm working the Gazillion Bubble Show at New World Stages...full time...with a good salary...at a great theatre...with some really nice people...with some great connections. Yeah, it's a bunch of bubble tricks, but that's cool...it's a relatively easy show to run and the kids in the audience love it. I get paid well. To do theatre. In NY. Not a bad start.
