I've come to the conclusion that not only am I lonely at this point but I've become horribly bitter, sarcastic, and pessimistic about everything in life and it is intefering with my chances to be really happy. In short I suppose, I'm going to end up a sardonic old hag with lots of cats because I'm not ever going to just let things happen and be happy.
