I am pretty proud of the Obama transition team and the LBJ School.
After being on the short list for National Security Advisor,
the Dean of the LBJ School was appointed to be Deputy Secretary of State. That should be a very interesting position considering he will be working directly under Hillary Clinton in trying to clean up the state of American foreign affairs. I guess since he already knows Bill Clinton (had a position in his White House cabinet) it may not be as weird as it might be for someone who didn't already have a relationship with the former president.
The second LBJ appointment is of one of our
health policy professors to Deputy Director of an Obama created White House Office of Health Reform.
I don't thnk any other policy schools in the nation had any staff appointments, so maybe this will increase the Schools national ranking a bit. I would be more excited to just graduate and be done with this epic academic effort. I think it may take me longer to get my masters than it took me to complete my undergraduate degree...and that took 6 years!
