Ugly Baseball
Went to the A's - Rangers game tonight ... hadn't been to a game since mid-August. Russell is out of town so we had Nicky, Lee, Evan, Bill and me from the usual Kotsay's Korner crowd, plus Gus who is usually part of the flag brigade in the Left Field Bleacher crowd.
Over three and half hours to play 9 innnings. The 7th inning stretch was after 10:00 pm. Only three 1-2-3- half innings in the entire game. We gave up 6 runs to the Rangers one inning, and then scored 7 runs in another, including two runs which were walked in, and two runs on an error. Ugly baseball, but entertaining. Huston Street closed the game with just 10 pitches, one pitch for the first batter, two pitches for the second, took seven pitches to get a fly ball to finish the game. Final 11-9, A's.
