First Real Impulse
Tonight I had my first real Impulse group study. (Impulse is the freshman bible study that I am doing this year in Prather.) I am really excited about what God will be doing through this group and what He will be teaching these guys and me. I'm also excited because I am partnered up with John (another Impulse leader) as prayer/accountability partners. Today worked out well. I was a bit nervous because I'm not much of a public speaker. I was really glad that the other guys (and David my partner) talked and shared so that I didn't have to talk the entire time. I was also really excited when Travis brought up one of the scriptures I was going to use before I even mentioned it. I felt like everyone was real and interested in growing. I had to run out early to catch a CS test (which I'm pretty sure I did great on) so David closed it up for me. Apparently after the meeting, most of the guys went over to David's room to play some Halo 2 action! I'm really excited about that because one thing I really really want to see from these guys is a community of fellowship where we are all friends and hang out with eachother outside of Impulse. This is so important because how we live our lives is much more important than what we talk about.
Other than that, I am really really ridiculously hungry because I fasted today and have not eaten yet. I fasted because I realized on Sunday that I was not putting God first in all my relationships and in all aspects of my life. I was having the most trouble with church and Focus Live because I was focusing more on hanging out with my friends instead of the real reason I was there... to WORSHIP GOD! So yeah, I feel much better about that now, but I'm sure I'll still need plenty of prayer on it...
