So I don’t have much for Show and Tell tonight.
Saturday was quite warm and I got to run around in a t-shirt for a bit (sorry east coasters!) but today it’s back to the chilly rain. It’s mostly been a weekend filled with naps and strange dreams.
Minor accomplishments:
1) Bought a
mattress.
This was brought on by the ever-remarkable dude that we were subletting from. Even after he gets “evicted” and we take over the lease since he’s totally late with rent, he has the audacity to email Chris to see if he could pick up that “extra” mattress that was in the apartment when we moved in. (I’m pretty sure it belonged to the girl that was subletting before us. ) Anyway, Chris said OK, wanting to get rid of all possible things that the dude could hassle us about. I felt more like telling the guy to take a flying leap, and offer to put it on the street corner for him but that’s just my Scorpio sense of forgiveness, I suppose.
BUT - the mattress is sweet! It’s made of green tea and recycled steel and came compressed in a not-so-huge box that we wheeled into the apartment. And it cost half as much and feels twice as comfortable as anything we looked at Macy’s.
2) Blew an unfortunate amount of money at the GAP.
I’m not quite sure how this happened, really. I had some type of stripy shirt meltdown, I think.
At least I’m ready for it to rain for the next two months.
3) Drank wine in my PJ’s and watched Superbad.
The movie was funny, albeit it had way too much sex y stuff for my ears / eyes.
Am I weird, or not? I have no issues with people doing what they do in real life behind closed doors, but I’m pretty G-rated when it comes to PDA or watching a film. It just GROSSES me out, even if it’s George Clooney.
Wine in bed however, is always awesome.
4) Went to the
gym - twice!
I’m at the early, way out of shape stage right now so it’s killing. Fifteen pounds seems a long way off. Perhaps this week I’ll go to a class to break up the murder of the elliptical machine.
5) Made Hammers Soup
Not my best version (I tried subbing radicchio for cabbage, with meh results) but still nothing’s better on a dark, rainy day. I just miss being able to make it with my Dad.
Oh - before I forget, we went to Muir Woods last weekend!
Check out my
flickr for more neeto pictures.
It was so much fun. I was really impressed by how sound just disappeared under the canopy of the trees. I adore forests and greenery, so this was just perfect. Definitely my favorite place we’ve visited in California.
Lastly - two amazing things:
1)
imaginaryfoundation.com Well designed surrealist / tech themed t-shirts with an odd, Dadaist company background.
The caption on this shirt reads, "Look Darling, a Sustainable Future."
2)
I have mixed feelings about “Steampunk” as a genre, but this image by
Stephen Rothwell is beyond rad.
Good Night and Good Luck!
